Texas formation records for prospect research.

Delivery timing is confirmed before activation. Source publication delays, holidays and collection status can affect when records become available. A collected record count is not a guarantee of a complete statewide batch.

What Texas publishes

Read the published fields in context.

Texas formation documents can disclose governing persons and registered agents. Read each role as disclosed, then verify the relevant contact. Confirm collection coverage and available fields rather than assuming every statewide filing reaches the feed.

Fields to review in a sample

  • Entity name and filing number
  • Type: LLC, corporation, LP or LLP
  • Formation date and status
  • Registered agent and registered office
  • Governing persons: managers, members, directors
  • Principal office address
  • Email and phone where matched

Understand the agent role

A registered agent receives legal documents for the company. Hiring a commercial agent does not establish that the company is a shell, lacks an operating address, or has no useful contacts. Check the principal or mailing address and named officials separately; an agent address alone does not locate the operating business.

Commercial-agent use alone is not a reason to exclude an entity. Assess its principal address, available contacts and operating evidence separately.

Texas questions

Before you start.

Where does the Texas data come from?

The Texas Secretary of State, Corporations Section — the registry behind SOSDirect. Current collection and delivery coverage is confirmed before activation.

Do I get the governing persons, not just the agent?

Review the named roles in the applicable source filing and confirm which fields are delivered. A manager, member, organiser or agent role does not necessarily identify an owner or the right purchasing contact; available appended contacts require separate checking.

Does it cover the whole state?

Use city, ZIP or other geographic fields where available to organise research. Confirm the delivered columns and verify actual operations before targeting a territory. A filing jurisdiction, registered office or agent address does not establish the operating location.
