Kansas formation records for prospect research.

Delivery timing is confirmed before activation. Source publication delays, holidays and collection status can affect when records become available. A collected record count is not a guarantee of a complete statewide batch.

What Kansas publishes

Read the published fields in context.

Since January 1, 2024, Kansas information reports are filed every two years. The formation year determines odd- or even-year reporting. For-profit entities report by April 15; nonprofit entities by June 15. The articles name the resident agent and organizer; those roles do not by themselves establish ownership.

Fields to review in a sample

  • Entity name and business entity ID
  • Type: LLC, corporation, LP or LLP
  • Filing date and status
  • Resident agent and registered office
  • Organizer named on the articles
  • Principal office address
  • Email and phone where matched

Understand the agent role

A registered agent receives legal documents for the company. Hiring a commercial agent does not establish that the company is a shell, lacks an operating address, or has no useful contacts. Check the principal or mailing address and named officials separately; an agent address alone does not locate the operating business.

Confirm the available fields in a current sample before activation. A blank field is missing information, not proof that an operating address or contact does not exist.

Kansas questions

Before you start.

Where does the Kansas data come from?

The Kansas Secretary of State, Business Services Division. Current collection and delivery coverage is confirmed before activation.

Does Johnson County dominate?

Review the current collected counts and a sample, then confirm active coverage before activation. Collected counts can differ from statewide filings and delivered records. A filing does not establish local operations or predict the number of suitable prospects.
