New York · Department of State

New York formation records for prospect research.

Delivery timing is confirmed before activation. Source publication delays, holidays and collection status can affect when records become available. A collected record count is not a guarantee of a complete statewide batch.

What New York publishes

Read the published fields in context.

New York LLC records include service-of-process information. Distinguish that address and any appended contact from an operating location or verified ownership. Confirm the source and meaning of the fields in your sample.

Fields to review in a sample

  • Entity name and DOS ID number
  • Type: LLC, corporation or LP
  • Filing date and county of location
  • Service-of-process address
  • Registered agent where separately named
  • Officers where the filing lists them
  • Email and phone where matched

Understand the agent role

An agent or registered-office provider receives legal documents. Its address does not establish the company’s operating location. Check principal addresses, public operations and available contacts separately; hiring a provider alone is not a reason to exclude the entity.

Confirm the available fields in a current sample before activation. A blank field is missing information, not proof that an operating address or contact does not exist.

New York questions

Before you start.

Where does the New York data come from?

The New York Department of State, Division of Corporations, State Records and Uniform Commercial Code. Current collection and delivery coverage is confirmed before activation.

Is the county of location included?

New York LLCs designate a legal county of location. That field does not prove the operating location or headquarters. Use a verified principal or operating address when building a territory.

Does the record name the owner?

Fields depend on the state, entity type and documents available. A named manager, organizer or registered agent is not necessarily an owner. Appended email and phone details are separate from registry fields; a match does not prove identity, reachability or deliverability. Missing fields remain blank.
